Adhesive-bonded planks and tiles

Dryback LVT is bonded to a suitably prepared subfloor with the adhesive specified for the product and application. Glue-down and gluedown are common names for this installation route. It differs from a floating click floor and needs its own installation guidance.

Plank and tile formats allow wood- and stone-look collections, coordinated laying patterns and project layouts. The pattern, edge treatment, dimensions and approved colour standard should be reviewed together before sampling and pack artwork are finalised.

A buying brief should identify total thickness, wear layer, surface treatment, dimensional stability, intended use and packing coverage. Site conditions, moisture assessment, subfloor preparation and the adhesive system remain part of the installation specification.

Buying questions

Does dryback mean a floor can be laid without adhesive?

No. Dryback LVT uses an adhesive-bonded installation method. It should not be confused with loose-lay products or a floating click system.

Can dryback LVT be supplied as wood-look planks?

Yes. Luxury vinyl flooring is supplied in both plank and tile formats. The selected decor, dimensions, edge detail and laying pattern belong in the range specification.

Can the same adhesive be used for every LVT product?

Follow the selected product’s installation guidance. The adhesive choice depends on the flooring, subfloor, site conditions and intended application.
