Outdoor / Decorative surface route For the trade
A PMMA-film surface direction for exterior composite boards. Consider the decorative face, bonding and underlying profile as separate parts of the specification.

A PMMA-film decking direction uses a defined film-based surface system. The complete construction includes the film, any additional layers, bonding route and the core that supports it.
The buying brief should establish the actual surface build, colour and texture, together with how edges and cut ends are finished. The term PMMA alone does not define the full panel or board.
We assess the available programme against the intended market and exposure. Surface adhesion, weathering and maintenance evidence should apply to the finished board, not only to a film component.

Record the core and profile as well as the face. Different substrates should not be treated as equivalent because the same surface term is used.
A useful quotation starts with the construction and the intended market. These are the decisions we work through with your product team.
Prepare your specification ↗| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Face system | Actual film and coating build-up and declared materials. |
| Bonding | Production route and appropriate product-specific adhesion evidence. |
| Profile | Core type, section, dimensions and cut-edge treatment. |
| Market evidence | Weathering, surface performance and care requirements for the range. |
Questions from product teams
That should not be assumed. The description concerns a surface route; request the complete construction.
No. The substrate, bonding and installation can affect the finished assembly and need their own relevant evidence.
