A tactile surface direction
Approve grain depth, repeat, colour and gloss on several full-size boards. A detailed face needs a consistent range standard.
Outdoor / Textured exterior surface For the trade
A polyurethane-capped exterior platform with a defined underlying construction. Explore deeper surface character while keeping formulation and performance claims specific to the selected range.

PU-capped exterior boards use a polyurethane-based outer surface route. Moulded or textured faces can create a different grain character from conventionally brushed composite decking.
The underlying core varies between product platforms. It should not automatically be described as ordinary wood-HDPE composite. Confirm the actual polymer, any plant fibre and any internal reinforcement.
Our programme approach separates the surface proposition from structural and environmental claims. Review the full board, profile, fixing system and relevant test evidence before defining market positioning.

Use the selected SKU sheet to establish the core. A platform name does not justify claims about plant-fibre content or recycled composition.
A useful quotation starts with the construction and the intended market. These are the decisions we work through with your product team.
Prepare your specification ↗| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Cap | Actual PU face construction, thickness and coverage. |
| Core | Confirmed material composition and any reinforcement. |
| Profile | Dimensions, weight, support and fixing details. |
| Exposure | Relevant slip, weathering, mechanical and fire evidence for the finished board. |
Questions from product teams
No. Some specialist exterior platforms use other core constructions. The actual product composition determines the correct description.
No. Surface texture and core composition are separate. Confirm the material specification rather than inferring it from appearance.
