Thailand SPC wall panels: approving a complete system

Source SPC and ABA wall panels from Thailand for distributor and private-label collections. Develop matt or glossy interior and shower-wall systems, with the board, connection and finishing details approved together.

Marble-look wall surfaces and formed corner detail in a contemporary bathroom

01

Start with the installation your customer will sell

A decorative feature wall and a shower enclosure can share a surface reference while requiring different installation details. Define the intended rooms, substrate, board dimensions, joint appearance and finishing method before comparing quotations. For wet-area applications, identify the complete build-up and the evidence required for its use. A board described as waterproof does not establish the performance of the joint, adhesive, penetrations or underlying wall.

This brief gives the purchasing team a common approval target and gives the sales team a product it can explain without filling gaps in the technical record.

02

Separate dense SPC from ABA construction

Dense SPC and layered ABA wall panels should be compared as specified constructions. The ABA category used here identifies an A–B–A architecture, with rigid outer layers around a lighter centre in the offered reference construction. It is a construction-led category, not a certification. Confirm the actual composition, density, thickness and connection on the selected programme rather than treating every product carrying a similar market name as interchangeable.

Interior products marketed as WPC also need a composition check. The label alone does not establish wood content or equivalence to SPC or ABA.

PVC- and SPC-labelled wall panels can share PVC and calcium carbonate in different proportions. Formulation and panel architecture determine the actual product; the market name alone does not establish stiffness or flexibility.

03

Approve an assembly before expanding the decor count

Use the first sample set to resolve a straight joint, inside and outside corners, exposed edges and any required trims. Include the proposed adhesive and installation instructions in that review. Then assess decor, surface feel and gloss on the finished board. A small face sample is useful for colour selection; it cannot answer whether a large panel handles correctly or whether a corner solution is acceptable to installers.

Record open issues against the assembly drawing so later decor approvals do not accidentally reopen the underlying construction.

04

Evaluate Thailand as a real production option

The World Bank's February 2026 Thailand Economic Monitor describes an established manufacturing economy with a diversified export base. That is useful background for an origin discussion, rather than evidence about a particular wall-panel line. The purchasing decision still follows the proposed site, specification, sample approval and commercial offer.

Thailand, Vietnam and China form a shared sourcing portfolio. A Thai production option can be assessed against the same wall-system brief used elsewhere, with the actual manufacturing record and destination requirements included in the comparison.

05

Release production against one approved record

Before the order is released, connect the signed sample to its construction code, surface reference, installation method, packing artwork and inspection plan. Identify which reports cover that exact build-up and which questions remain open. Agree how board flatness, joint fit, visible surface variation and transport protection will be checked. This leaves a repeatable record for replenishment rather than a collection held together by photographs and informal sample names.

Buying questions

Does choosing Thailand require changing the wall-panel collection?

Not necessarily. The shared sourcing and decorative-film network can support an existing range. The finished board, connection and installation details still require approval on the selected production route.

Should a buyer request SPC or ABA wall panels?

Start with the intended application and commercial target. Compare the actual dense or layered construction, handling, connection and evidence, then approve the option that fits the programme.
