Vietnam SPC wall panels: building the buyer's approval file

Source SPC and ABA wall panels from Vietnam for your distribution market. Connect matt or glossy surfaces, shower-wall applications and private-label packing to a clear product and commercial approval file.

01

Give each saleable product an exact identity

Start the approval file with a product code that identifies construction, dimensions, connection and surface. Dense SPC, layered ABA and hollow rigid PVC panels should not be grouped under one technical description simply because their decorative faces look similar. ABA is used here as a layered construction category; its name does not certify a particular performance.

Keep commercial collection names separate from manufacturing codes, then map them explicitly. This lets a sales catalogue use an elegant range name while purchasing, inspection and technical documents continue to identify the actual board.

PVC- and SPC-labelled wall panels can share PVC and calcium carbonate in different proportions. Formulation and panel architecture determine the actual product; the market name alone does not establish stiffness or flexibility.

02

Match the evidence to the claim

List the intended product claims before asking for reports. For each claim, record the test method, specimen construction, surface, thickness, result and intended application. A report for one panel or finish is not automatically evidence for every colour, core or assembly in the collection. Where a document leaves that relationship unclear, resolve the scope before using the claim in distributor literature.

For shower and wet-area offers, review joints, corners, penetrations and installation instructions alongside the board. The finished wall system is the relevant customer proposition.

03

Prepare the destination review early

Vietnam's export-oriented manufacturing economy provides useful context for sourcing discussions. The World Bank's May 2026 update identifies manufacturing and exports as important growth anchors; it does not rank Vietnam's SPC or wall-panel industry. A product decision needs its own supplier and technical assessment.

For European buyers, the EU–Vietnam trade agreement has been in force since 1 August 2020. Its existence does not establish a particular panel's tariff treatment. Give the importer and customs adviser the actual composition, manufacturing process and proposed origin documents so they can assess the applicable classification and requirements for the goods.

04

Make private-label packing part of approval

A packaging review should cover more than the front artwork. Confirm units per pack, gross and net dimensions, protective materials, pallet arrangement and handling information. Agree how the product code, batch reference and installation information will be connected to the shipment. Review translations and destination-specific statements with the party responsible for placing the product on that market.

Large-format panels need a realistic handling and damage review. The approval file should show the packing configuration actually quoted, including any effect on container loading and warehouse handling.

05

Keep the launch file usable for replenishment

Close the first order with a controlled specification, retained finished sample and current artwork revision. Link the agreed inspection points to that record. Subsequent purchases then have a clear baseline for colour, surface, joint fit and packing. Vietnam is one origin within the same portfolio available through Thailand and China; if the origin later changes, carry the file forward and approve the differences rather than starting again from a showroom photograph.

Buying questions

Can one technical sheet cover SPC, ABA and rigid PVC panels?

A range overview can introduce them together, but the underlying specification and evidence must identify the actual construction. Similar decor does not make the products technically interchangeable.

Does Vietnamese origin automatically give a duty advantage?

No automatic benefit is assumed. The importer needs a product-specific assessment of classification, actual manufacture, origin evidence and the destination's current treatment before finalising landed cost.
