Connection / Välinge technologies For the trade
From straight-plank connections to 5G herringbone systems, the installation concept needs to fit the range. We help distributors translate the technology choice into a complete product specification.

Välinge offers multiple mechanical locking technologies. Its 2G family uses angling, while 5G-i is a one-piece push-down route integrated into the core. Profile version, board construction and the supplied instructions define the actual installation method.
The herringbone portfolio distinguishes 5G H/B Duo, based on A and B panels, from 5G H/B One, introduced as a one-panel installation concept. That distinction matters to the installation sequence and the number of items held in stock.
Liteback is a separate material-removal technology for the back of the board. It should not be treated as a locking-system name or as evidence that the board has a foamed lightweight core.

Agree the exact profile, board build-up and relevant production route. A system-level claim must be supported on the supplied product.
A useful quotation starts with the construction and the intended market. These are the decisions we work through with your product team.
Prepare your specification ↗| Decision | What to define |
|---|---|
| Connection version | Identify the actual licensed system and short-edge mechanism. |
| Herringbone | A/B or one-panel format; installation direction and carton identification. |
| Backing technology | Specify Liteback separately if mechanical weight reduction is selected. |
| Approval | Use assembled samples, instructions and range-specific documentation. |
Välinge, 5G and Liteback are technology names of their respective rights holders. Availability and authorisation depend on the selected production programme.
Questions from product teams
No. H/B Duo and H/B One describe different concepts. Confirm the exact technology and supplied plank arrangement.
No. Liteback removes material through machined backing grooves. Light SPC describes a different approach to core construction and density.
